WW Appointed Co-Lead Counsel in Webloyalty.com Multidistrict Litigation

On October 30, 2007, Wexler Wallace LLP and Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP were appointed co-lead counsel in In re: Webloyalty.com, Inc. Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation, Case No. 06-11620-JLT (D. Mass.). 

WW represents consumers in these nationwide class actions, alleging that Webloyalty.com, in association with its web retail partners, have unlawfully obtained consumers’ confidential billing information and used this information to sell a sham fee-based membership programs, including one commonly known as “Reservations Rewards.” Reservation Rewards is a membership program that purportedly provides discounts on dining and tourist attractions, along with so-called “travel protection” such as roadside assistance, hotel overbooking and baggage insurance.  Many consumers have been charged by Webloyalty.com for memberships in the Reservation Rewards program, and similar programs, without authorization.
