Practice Areas > Business Litigation

WW attorneys represent businesses throughout the country in complex disputes, which range from breach of contract claims to business torts, including claims for fraud, conversion and breach of fiduciary duty. We are used to dealing with a well-heeled and well-represented adversary; that is the nature of our practice. We can and have represented small business on a contingency when that business has to litigate against a larger adversary that engaged in unfair and unlawful conduct.

And while we understand the need for aggressive representation, we understand that resolution in these cases often requires a creative approach. Because of this, we have successfully handled difficult cases between businesses and between shareholders in closely held corporations that other lawyers are unwilling or unable to handle. For example, we represented a Villlage located in the Suburbs of Chicago against its former accountants and consultants for malfeasance, which involved millions of dollars that threatened the ability of the Village to deliver even the most basic services to its citizens. Aggressive representation in that case was necessary and led to a favorable result. In another case, we were retained by majority shareholders with a large stake in a Florida manufacturing concern after a decade of litigation in Illinois emanating from management misconduct. We were able to help the clients resolve this long-running case by bringing a fresh approach to a bitter dispute.
